Hot Topic got its start in 1988, fitting a very specific niche. There were plenty of teen-focused accessories stores in the malls, but there were no music-inspired accessories shops. By 1990, the store had expanded to apparel. T-shirts for bands such as Bauhaus, the Cure and Depeche Mode were some of the first on the shelves, and the store was offering about 50 options within the first year. That was just the beginning. Hot Topic is now well known as the spot both for young people to develop their style and for adults to find merchandise from their favorite bands.
With more than 600 stores across the United States and a product line that includes T-shirts, general apparel, accessories, backpacks, bags, toys, collectibles and home decor, Hot Topic has made its mark on the world. Whether you’re looking for something totally new, you want to score merch for your favorite fandom or you’re trying to find specialty music items, Hot Topic has you covered. Browse thousands of products online or use the store locator to find a Hot Topic outlet in your area.
